Willing to lend a hand in a nature sanctuary? Experience the natural wonders of the Zillertal Alps and make a positive impact to the ecosystem at the Nature Park. Get involved for one day and see Tirol like no-one else can.
Work together with Nature Park Rangers in the Zillertal Alps Nature Park and assist mountain farmers to maintain these unique mountain environments. This is a great way to get away from it all and reconnect with nature! The 2019 Volunteer Project helps protect the mountain meadows of Brandberg. This unique program is about conservation and about giving a helping hand.
Tasks include invasive tree and shrub removal, weed control, (re)building traditionally constructed dry-stone walls and field habitat restoration. The mountain meadows are found at an elevation of 1,845 meters above sea level at Kolmhaus Lodge. This volunteer project involves habitat restoration and is geared toward the protection and rehabilitation of these unique mountain environments. Plan some 7 hours; volunteering tasks involve about 6 hours, plus lunch break. The number of participants is limited to eight.
