In late March, Galtür plays host to the third cross country ski series of events named Nordic Volumes, combining the popular Nordic Night Race with the new Cross Country Climb and a free XC Camp with tuition and demos of the latest gear.
The third Galtür Nordic Volumes event kicks-off on March 21, 2024, with the popular Nordic Night Race, which is now in its fifth year. The skating sprint through this quaint village at the end of Paznaun Valley is one of the highlights of the ski season. Cheered up by spectators, amateur skate skiers compete against the clock and themselves – and will rub shoulders with pro skiers.
The event continues Saturday, March 23, 2024, with the new highlight in this series of events, the Cross Country Climb. The competition is open to all and takes Nordic skiers from Galtür across Vermunt toward Bielerhöhe with the loop bringing them back to Galtür. Two different courses are offered: the 16-kilometer “Light” course with an elevation gain of 377 meters and the 31.8-kilometer “Hard” course with an elevation gain of 861 meters.
The Kids Race will take place on March 21, 2024; the Juniors Race is scheduled for March 24, 2024.
