This short Eagle Walk section between Ulmer Hut and St. Anton is a pleasant downhill stroll: The descent takes you on a dirt road and onto a path winding down through meadows and pastures as you lose altitude and reach a floor with tiny lakes.
Follow the dirt road that branches off at an artificial lake and runs into Steißbachtal Valley: As you pass grazing pastures, the singletrack turns into a dirt road that meanders out of the valley along Steißbach River’s deep chasm. With the first glimpse of St. Anton, take the left fork onto a singletrack and walk down the ski run. Pass Senn Hut and continue walking on a dirt road, turn left and then right onto Mühltobelweg Path that zigzags through a tiny ravine and passes a roaring waterfall. At the destination end of the hike you will find the worthwhile Ski and Local Heritage Museum of St. Anton, close to the base terminal of Vallugabahn Cable Car.
The use of GPS data is at your own risk. In narrow valleys and secluded forests visual contact with satellites is not always guaranteed and data/information can be imprecise. Always check the GPS directions on your own as in alpine regions it is not possible to reach the hiking destination via beeline. You should be able to orientate yourself without GPS devices.
