The Eagle Walk’s main route winds through Tirol’s most gorgeous regions from St. Johann to St. Anton am Arlberg and is divided into 23 segments.
The Walk follows designated hiking trails and mountain footpaths, most of which are red-blazed trails that are rated intermediate. There are easy bypass trails for difficult segments that require a higher skill level for hikers. Particularly challenging trail sections include the segment from Steinberg am Rofan to Schafsteigsattel Saddle and Erfurter Hut (U7), the hardest and highest part on the trail from Karwendelhaus Lodge to Birkkarspitze Peak, Hallerangerhaus and Hallerangeralm (U11), and the segment from Stuttgarter Hut to Trittscharte Notch and Ulmer Hut (U22).
To succeed in seeing the best of Innsbruck’s sights and attractions, all you need is to take the two-hour City Walk (12a).
And while there are no guarantees in wildlife viewing along the Eagle Walk, seeing the two Golden Eagles „Donna & Max“ is certain at the Innsbruck Alpine Zoo (12).
