"Hear, smell, and feel your way" - that's the credo the "Trail of Senses" in Virgen hinges on.

With all your senses. There is plenty to feel, touch and examine in the meadows and hedges around Virgen: bunches of moss, tree slabs with prominent annual rings, round and square stones, old larch shingles, ....
Apart from the interesting noises and fragrances you will discover on the 'Trail of Senses', various adventure stations along the way will provide information and entertainment. 'Just follow your nose' is the motto at the Olfactory Station: grind herbs and different kinds of wood to better perceive the essential oils and scents. A 'sniffing experience' not to be missed!
On the 2-hour hike through the open fields of Virgen you will be equipped with large hearing horns and ear trumpets so you won't miss even the slightest breeze or faintest chirp. Those who want to do more than listen can create their own world of sounds with clap sticks made of local wood and a xylophone.
The other stations along the 2.5 km long trail all provide interesting information on the countryside and rural life in Virgen. The visitor is given an audio-tape and a Braille brochure. The trail is well marked and signposted to facilitate orientation
The 'Trail of Senses' in Virgen offers a perfect blend of art and nature. In line with the motto 'Art in the Valley of Senses' the Blind Trail is enhanced with exhibits by the Carinthian artist Elke Maier.
