At the village evening in Scheffau, children draw a huge picture that can be purchased by auction via the internet.
It is often in a relaxed atmosphere, when the best ideas occur! In Scheffau, every Wednesday evening belongs to the children – a village festival just for them and their accompanying persons. Painting faces, making friendship bracelets, balloon snakes, mini disco and a presentation of the young brass band or the dance group. A get-together with lots of fun at the village center.
This is when everybody is involved in the painting of a huge wall picture. “The children really enjoy painting”, explains Georg Bauer, head of the local tourist office. Only the topic of the picture is given according to the holiday region: herbal witch, Ellmi frog or Kneipp ghost. “What will we do with the beautiful picture?” We will put it for auction via the internet.

The picture can be seen on the website of the tourist board at
www.wilderkaiser.info. Those who want to participate in the auction simply have to enter their personal details and a price. The picture will be sent to the winner with the highest bid.
It is possible to take part in this project in two ways: come to Scheffau and join the team drawing the picture (only children) or make your bid via the internet.
Dr. Gabriela Pohla-Gubo, doctor at the University Hospital Salzburg and representative of the support group for DEBRA butterfly children Austria, is looking forward to this initiative. She will be handed over the money by the tourist board at the end of the summer season 2010.
