Autumn is the time when the cattle is driven from the Alpine pastures down to the valley. Sometimes the first snowfalls already occur before the animals reach their stables. Good news for winter sport fans - all 5 Tirolean glaciers offer perfect snow conditions for memorable skiing days in early winter.
6 golden rules
(1) Quality sports clothing: warm underwear, two pairs of warm gloves, appropriate ski suit, ski cap and a cold weather mask are an absolute must
(2) Enough to drink: a minimum of 2 liters per day are required for children in order to prevent dehydration and headache
(3) Dark sun glasses (high-quality!)
(4) Apply sun blocker (40+) already at home
(5) Make enough breaks, children also need some time to play in the snow
(6) Off-piste powder snow skiing is not allowed as glacier crevasses are very dangerous!
From October all 5 Tirolean glaciers are in operation. Stubai Glacier boasts the fun-filled Big Family play world for children at the Gamsgarten station. In Hintertux the first Snow Park lines are already shaped! The snowboard and freestyle elite will get together on Kaunertal Glacier.
