As part of the “Tirol without Barriers” project Kaunertal came up with some great cross-country ski trails for adaptive skiers.
Kaunertal now boasts four great cross-country ski tracks that are suitable for advaptive skiers.
Those new to sit-skiing can book an instruction sessions with the local tourist office.
The adaptive ski trails are marked with color-coded signs to give you an idea about the difficulty level. Kaunertal has two blue and two red trails.
Blue trails are mostly flat and have only few curves, making them ideal for novice skiers. Red trails are moderately difficult and therefore better suited for more experienced skiers.
Detailed information on the adaptive trails, including terrain information, ski rental options, wheelchair-friendly lodgings, and other available activities can be found online at www.kaunertal.com and www.ohnehandicap.tirol.at.
