Triathlon has become a popular sports in Tirol. Swimming in warm alpine lakes, a spin on the race bike, and jogging through a shady forest: almost as beautiful as on Hawaii.

Grenzland Triathlon Kirchbichl June 13, 2009: race registrations for the sprint and short triathlon are accepted until June 12.
Triathlon has become so popular as almost everybody has some experience in either biking, swimming or running. And although the sport requires dedication and training, you don’t have to be a professional athlete to compete: triathlons are great for everybody who is looking for a challenge.
And you don’t have to be an Iron Man or Women to compete in triathlons! There are plenty of great events with shorter distances for hobby athletes. 750 meters swimming, 19 kilometers cycling and 5 kilometers running are distances most reasonably trained people can master. Alternatively you and two of your most athletic friends can decide to compete in a relay triathlon!
Compared to Hawaii the triathlon competitions in Tirol are small, almost cozy.
At the after-race party you might sit at a table with pros like Eva Dollinger, Carina Wasle or Frederic Kohl and realize: even champions love to celebrate!
The next event this summer is the
Grenzland-Triathlon in Kirchbichl (June 13, 2009) followed by the TirolClassic Triathlon in Innsbruck (June 27, 2009),
Kitzbühel’s Championship Weekend (July 10 – 12, 2009) and the
XTerra Cross-Triathlon also in Kitzbühl (July 25, 2009). The race season ends on August 23, 2009 with the
Triathlon-Zug Tirol for children.
Join in the action: compete yourself or cheer on your heroes!
