Run along old Roman routes and smugglers' trails!
Running...
In “Tirol’s 1st Running Region” you can push yourself to new heights! The pretty town of Nauders is located in the Reschenpass and offers a great choice of sports and leisure facilities. With 95 kilometers of designated hiking trails, 11 running trails and one Nordic walking route, active guest of all fitness levels will find something to their liking. Some of the trails travel along historic routes, such as the Roman Via Claudia Augusta, and old smugglers paths. The mildly brazing alpine climate stimulates your metabolism and the scenic surroundings make exercising a joy. Our tip for ambitious runners: the 15.4-kilometer long loop around Lake Reschensee (altitude gain: 94m). Every year there is a race around the lake. Start and finish is the tower in Graun.
... and relaxing
In summer there are two pristine mountain lakes, Grüner See and Haiderersee, that bring welcome refreshment from the heat. Other places where you can swim and relax are the swimming pools in Pfunds and Graun. Popular water activities in the region include windsurfing, sailing, and rafting. Interesting attractions include the castle on the old Roman route, the Naudersberg castl museum, and plenty of beautiful old monasteries and churches.
