Hohe Tauern National Park
A superlative natural experience
Aidalm, Nationalpark Hohe Tauern
Be amazed and overcome by what you see: every path in the Hohe Tauern National Park leads to the origins of nature. The superlative experience can also be expressed in numbers: 1,800 km² in area, a breathtaking mountain panorama taking in the highest mountain in Austria, the Großglockner (3,798 m), about 10,000 types of animal, including 40 brooding pairs of eagles. Plant life reaches an elevation of 3,400 metres in the form of the glacier buttercup and the largest pine forest in the eastern Alps. A stay in this “Noah’s Arch” is consequently full of variety. Thanks to an extensive programme ranging from the children’s’ camp to the Großglockner trek, a visit to the National Park means relaxation and adventure for the whole family.
