The greater Pitztal region boasts 12 designated loops with a combined total of 95.7 kilometers. Beginners and leisure runners should head to Arzl which offers a great choice of short and mostly flat trails, such as the one around Osterstein. The trails in and around Wenns run through hilly terrain and are ideal for interval training. High altitude training is offered in the upper part of the valley (Jerzens and St. Leonhard): the loop around Lake Rifflsee is located at 2300 meters above sea level and offers breathtaking alpine views. Pitztal also offers perfect training conditions for the Glacier Marathon which leads from Mandarfen to Imst, and the Steinbock Mountain Race in July.
