In many locations you can take full advantage of free or discounted snowshoe hiking equipment rental. Additionally, the experienced and certified hiking guides will take you to the most hidden spots amid the Tirolean winter wonderland.

During a splendid nature watch snowshoe hike, for example in the Ötztal, you walk though snow-covered winter forests embedded in majestic mountain peaks, past picture-book mountain lakes and frozen brooks. With a bit of luck you can follow the wild animals' traces in the snow.

Also in the Tannheimer Tal you explore the marvelous Allgäu Alps. Ideal for beginners: weekly snowshoe taster tours guided by Elmar in Tannheim (every Wednesday at 10.30 am). On Mondays "Kids Power" is on the program: short introductory snowshoe hiking tours with plenty of funny snow games and igloo building for kids. Meeting point: 10.00 am in Jungholz.

For a small rental fee of Euro 5.00 you can discover the scenic Hall-Wattens Holiday Region together with certified nature watch guides. They will take you to Tirol's winter wonderland amid the Karwendel Alpine Park (Austria's biggest of its kind) where you have the chance to watch the region's wildlife close-by. Night-time magic
Snowshoe hiking tours at full moon take place in the splendid Hohe Tauern area. White forests, snow-covered fields and a wonderful National Park await you.
