A speedy and exciting ride with the ultimate Alpine Roller Coasters always makes a unique experience for young and old – also for wheelchair users!

The 3.5 km Alpine Coaster Imst is the longest of its kind in the Alps: a great destination for handicapped sportsmen!

Bernhard Schöpf, managing director of the Bergbahnen Imst mountain lifts, explains that Coaster riding guarantees unlimited fun also for wheelchair users. The only thing you must bring is an appropriate chest belt to avoid falling over. Many of the 200,000 summer visitors are physically impaired people, they enjoy memorable downhill adventures.

One of the employees at Bergbahnen Imst mountain lifts is a wheelchair user as well, therefore handicapped people will get all the help they need: you leave your car right at the base station and take the lift. On top you change to a special rental wheelchair which takes you some 50 meters to the roller coaster access area. Sanitary facilities suitable for wheelchair users are available at the base station.

Alpine Coaster Imst: starting at 1500m above sea level, 500m difference in altitude, highest point above the ground 6m.

"More and more clubs and associations enjoy an adventurous afternoon at the Alpine Coaster, for example the Snow Clan (summer 2010). We do our best to make it as easy as possible for wheelchair users and their families", states Bernhard Schöpf.

The coaster ride takes about 15 minutes at a maximum speed of 40 km/h. But it's up to the rider to control its speed!

Alpine Coaster - The pioneer in Imst, was the very first roller coaster in Tirol featuring a sensational length of 3.5 km. Starting point at 1500m above sea level, altitude difference 500m, highest point 6m above the ground. Open Thursday to Sunday, 10 am - 5 pm. Rates: 1 roller coaster ride plus lift ride - adults € 10.50/children 3-6 yrs € 4.20/children 7-15 yrs € 8.40

Arena-Coaster, up and down adventures: here you don't have to take a lift ride as you can simply remain seated in your sled. Length 1450m, difference in altitude 140m, riding time 6-7 minutes, 540-degree roundabout. Open daily 28 May - 26 October 2011. Rates: 1 ride adults € 4.50/children € 2.70, 5 rides adults € 21/children € 12.50

Timok's Coaster, round tour of Pillerseetal at Streuböden Alm in close vicinity to the mountain lifts. Non-stop roller coaster adventure guaranteed. Length 1160m, difference in altitude 115m, riding time 7 minutes. Summer operation from May 2011. Rates: 1 ride adults € 4/children € 2.50, 5 rides adults € 18/children € 11

Osttirodler, newest highlight amid the scenic mountains of Osttirol: many roundabouts, exhilarating turns, great views of lovely Lienz. Length 2.7 km. Open 08 May - 26 November 2011. Rates: 1 ride adults € 6/children € 5, 5 rides adults € 27.50/children € 22.50
