Skiing in Finkenberg

The village of Finkenberg at the southern end of the Zillertal Valley is wintersports hotspot during the cold months of the year. There is a cable car straight from the centre of the village up onto the Penken mountain, where plenty of action and adventure awaits.

Above the village of Mayrhofen, where the Tuxertal Valley and the Zemmtal Valley converge, lies the village of Finkenberg. Skiers and snowboarders can travel straight from the centre of the village up onto the Penken mountain offering plenty of slopes for all abilities. The resort is part of the larger Mayrhofen ski network which extends to the Rastkogel mountain and the Eggalm in the west. One of the main highlights is the incredibly steep Harakiri Piste (78% gradient in places), one of the steepest ski runs in Austria. Snowboarders will enjoy the Penkenpark. More action awaits on the Ahorn mountain to the east of Finkenberg, where there is plenty of space for carving wide turns. Kids will enjoy the family park with its easy jumps and rails. Last but certainly not least it is not far from Finkenberg to the Hintertux Glacier with snowsure slopes up to 3,250 metres above sea level.
