The next generation of tide-turning lead and speed climbers will flood Tirol’s vibrant capital Innsbruck in September 2017 to fulfill their dreams of winning Gold at the 2017 World Youth Championships.
Austria has hosted the Youth World Championships on a previous occasion in 2011. Six years later, the next generation of climbers will try to fulfill their dreams of winning Gold at the 2017 World Youth Championships in Tirol’s capital Innsbruck. Some 1,400 junior athletes coming from 60 different nations will compete for their country and for their chance at glory in Innsbruck in September 2017. The athletes are aged 14 to 19 and will compete in four different disciplines including Lead, Bouldering, Speed and Combination. World Champions are crowned in each discipline.
The event, which will also serve as a test event for the 2018 Climbing World Championships, will be held at the completely revamped Climbing Center at Olympia World. The World Youth Championships are organized by the Austria Competition Climbing Association, Österreichischer Wettkletterverband (ÖWK).
