Running from Obergurgl to Vent across Ramoljoch Col, the popular Ötztal Glacier Flea Walk (Gletscherflohmarsch) is an Alpine walk that blends challenge and achievement with awesome mountain sceneries.
Each year in early August, the Ötztal Glacier Flea Walk takes avid hikers from Obergurgl to Vent along its 16-kilometre route, gaining 1,300 meters of elevation. En route, you will find many beautiful places that invite to simply contemplate your good fortune while sitting there, surrounded by pure mountain beauty. Hydration and refreshments are provided for at aid stations along the trail at Ramolhaus Lodge and at Ramoljoch Col, at an elevation of 3,200 meters above sea level. Now in its 45th year, the Glacier Flea Walk departs from the village square in Obergurgl between 06:00am and 08:00am. Whoever reaches the finish area in Vent until 4:00pm – having passed the checkpoints at Ramolhaus Lodge, Ramoljoch Col and Langeben – will be awarded the Glacier Flea Badge in Gold. There is an after party with live music at the finish area following the walk.
