Road cycling at its finest—and hardest: The Arlberg Giro Road Race is, quite simply, one of Tirol’s premier – and most challenging – road bike races.

On Sunday, July 30, 2017, cycling enthusiasts will come together in St. Anton as scenic Arlberg Area plays host to a terrific road cycling race: The 148K Arlberg Giro Road Race is, quite simply, one of Tirol’s premier – and most challenging – road bike races. Total climbing is over 2,500 meters, which includes two mountain passes, Arlberg Pass and. Departing from St. Anton, the route ascends Arlberg Pass, continues across Klostertal Valley to Bludenz, winds into Montafon Valley and over Bieler Höhe and Silvretta into Paznaun Valley, and from Pians through Stanzertal Valleys on its way back to St. Anton.

The rider who reaches the highest elevation on the course, Bieler Höhe at an elevation of 2,032 meters, first, will be crowned “King of the Mountain” in the timed hill climb.

Spectators who don’t want to get up that early (the Arlberg Giro starts at 06:00am in the pedestrianized main street of St. Anton), can join the party on the eve of the race, when professional riders will hit the streets of St. Anton at 6:00pm, bringing the best international criterium racing and a big street party to the heart of the village.
