There's plenty going on in Tirol's ski resorts as the season gets underway. From mountain concerts to equipment tests to the first race of the FIS Ski World Cup season, here are some of the highlights you can look forward to.
The FIS Ski World Cup will begin as always in late October in Sölden, where the world's top male and female skiers will be in attendance. The event marks the start of the ski season in the Ötztal Valley. Just a few kilometres east and west of the Ötztal Valley you will find two more resorts starting the season a little earlier than most: Kaunertal and the Stubai Glacier. Both offers visitors the chance to try out the latest equipment on the slopes and in the funparks, with plenty of other things also going on during the season-opening weekend. Last but certainly not least, don't miss out on the famous Top of the Mountain Opening Concert in Ischgl which in recent years has featured some of the top stars of the international music scene and launches the new ski season on the Pitztal Glacier with a bang.
