Tristach Toboggan Run

This toboggan run is located in the village of Tristach near Lienz. The first quarter of the ascent leads along the toboggan run itself, before branching off onto a tarmac road for the remaining three quarters all the way up to the Kreithof hut. Walking time from the bottom is around 75 minutes, though there is also the option of taking a taxi. The 3.2 km descent drops roughly 400 vertical metres. Those with energy left to burn can continue from the Kreithof for another 90 minutes up to the Dolomitenhütte. This cosy hut at 1,616m altitude offers fantastic views of Lienz and the surrounding mountains of East Tyrol. The lower section of the toboggan run (from the Kreithof hut down to the bottom) is floodlit every day until midnight. Both the Kreithof hut and the Dolomitenhütte hut serve a selection of traditional Tyrolean dishes.
