Running and walking in Europe's most beautiful high mountain valley!
Running...
With 186 kilometers of designated trails the Tannheimer Tal Running and Nordic Walking Arena is one of Tirol’s largest. The region boasts 26 routes that vary in length and difficulty to suit all fitness and experience levels. Even if you spend a lot of time here, chances are you will never have to do the same route twice! The High Alpine Route follows difficult mountain trails, the Barefoot Trail runs through soft grass ideal for walking and/or running without shoes. The tourist offices offer maps with all Nordic walking and running trails replete with information on kilometers, difficulty rating, elevation profiles and route description.
... and relaxing
What would the scenic Tannheimer Tal be without its mountain lakes? Lake Haldensee offers a bathing beach as well as free beaches, and the views of the surrounding mountains are simply breathtaking. Another popular place to relax are the outdoor swimming pools in Jungholz in Tirol’s Außerfern. Our secret tip for warm summer nights: swimming under the stars! Another highlight: a horse-drawn carriage through peaceful landscapes to beautiful destinations such as Lake Vilsalpsee.
