Baumkirchen is situated on a hilltop above the Inntal Valley near the historic town of Hall in Tirol. It has around 1,200 inhabitants.
Thanks to its location Baumkirchen is the ideal starting point for hikes and bike rides into the surrounding forests and mountains. Hall in Tirol is just a few minutes away and has lots of interesting museums and other cultural attractions, while it is just a 20-minute drive to the regional capital Innsbruck.
In Baumkirchen itself there is the Schloss Wohlgemutsheim in the heart of the village. Surrounded by a large garden, it is home to a spiritual centre established by the Don Bosco sisters as well as the Don Bosco kindergarden.
