Skiing in Going am Wilden Kaiser

Many skiers and snowboarders who clamber aboard the Astbergbahn four-man chairlift in Going am Wilden Kaiser, their skis and snowboards already strapped to their feet, have little idea of the spectacular journey that awaits them. The ski resort in Going, with its series of small beginners' lifts, is in fact the gateway to a huge network of pistes known as the SkiWelt Wilder Kaiser-Brixental. After arriving at the top, they will see the many slopes stretching out ahead of them, connected by a number of state-of-the-art lifts and cable cars. Here there really is something for everyone, from wide family pistes for cruising to steep runs like the "Black East".

Beginners can take their first turns in Going, where instructos from the local ski school will be happy to show you the right technique. There are also special lessons for children. Freestyle skiers and snowboarders will find several snowparks, such as the Ellmauer Kaiserpark next to the Tanzbodenbahn lift. Dotted throughout the resort are a number of traditional huts, restaurants and snack bars.

The SkiWelt Wilder Kaiser-Brixental is also home to Tirol's largest floodlit skiing area where those who simply can't get enough during the daytime can ski into the night. Snowsure conditions in the region mean that visitors can enjoy fine skiing in Going throughout the season.
