Prutz

Situated on the Via Claudia Augusta, an ancient Roman rode, Prutz is a delightful little village where travellers and traders have sought refuge for more than 1,000 years.

Today it welcomes visitors from all over the world who come to this municipality with 1,700 residents to enjoy the peace and quiet here in what is known as the Oberes Gericht, the most westernmost area of the Inntal Valley, where the Kaunertal Valley branches off to the east. In the centre of the village visitors will find traditional farmhouses, some of which contain late gothic elements. During the cold months of the year, skiers and snowboarders are spoilt for choice with the region’s many resorts. Beginners are often drawn to nearby Fendels, while the much larger resort of Serfaus-Fiss-Ladis is almost as close. Those who can’t get enough of winter and want to enjoy snowsure conditions into late spring can travel up to the Kaunertal Glacier. In summer there is a large network of hiking trails, including the Kaunerberger Water Trail. On the way back hikers can stop off at the “Sauerbrunnquelle“, a natural spring with healthy mineral water, or splash around in the outdoor adventure pool with its impressive 42m slide.
