Skiing in Zell am Ziller

Pistes as far as the eye can see! Above the village of Zell am Ziller you will find the large Zillertal Arena ski resort stretching all the way into the neighbouring province of Salzburg. Beginners, experts and freeriders will all find plenty of terrain to suit their needs.

Zell am Ziller is a resort with something for everyone. This large network of pistes in the Kitzbühel Alps, which can be accessed from four different villages, stretches all the way up to 2.500 metres above sea level. The Zillertal Arena, as the resort is known, connects the villages of Zell am Ziller, Gerlos, Königsleiten and Hochkrimml over the border in the neighbouring province of Salzburg. Given the number of pistes here it will come as no surprise that the resort offers everything from easy slopes for beginners to steep black runs as well as funparks with halfpipes. Sounds like hungry work, right? You will be pleased to know that there are plenty of huts and restaurants next to the slopes serving hearty local food. Make sure you top up your energy levels before taking on the long descent back down into Zell am Ziller comprising 10 kilometres of skiing with 1,930 vertical metres of descending from top to bottom. A real challenge even for skiers with thighs of steel!
