Urlicht Primal Light brings Austria and Australia together: the local Franui Musicbanda and Circa, a circus company from Brisbane. The production creates an innovative connection between acrobatics and music theater. Based on a shared love for Gustav Mahler's songs, Franui's Mahler song album serves as the musical backbone, which has been adapted, expanded, and reworked for this live performance. To this end, Yaron Lifschitz, the artistic director of the dance company, developed a physical score made up of body worlds and sculptures with the acrobats of Circa. The production celebrated its acclaimed world premiere in April of last year at the European Capital of Culture Salzkammergut 2024 in Bad Ischl.
