HAIMING -> Magerbach district -> Apple Road -> Silz -> Forest -> HAIMING
Please note the current snow and avalanche report for the coming days: www.oetztal.com/en/winter.html & avalanche.report/albina-web/bulletin/2019-01-07
Appropriate equipment such as breathable and weather-appropriate outdoor clothing, wind, rain, snow, and sun protection, a hat and gloves, is required for all hikes and routes. Carrying a first aid kit, a mobile phone, and possibly a route map, as well as sufficient provisions for trips without catering options, is necessary.
The starting point is the Haiming municipal office. First, follow the old federal road and cross the bridge into the Magerbach district. Here, keep right and walk along the paved path past snowy plantations to Silz. This section of the path is the Apple Road. In summer, the Oberländer apple is grown here and harvested in autumn. Children discover everything worth knowing about the apple at the Apple Mile playground. In winters with little snow, the playground can be visited almost all year round. Away from traffic, this flat path is especially suitable for walks with strollers. In Silz, follow Simmeringstraße and then turn right into Josef-Marberger-Straße. This leads out of the village through meadows and the Pirchet forest and then joins the old federal road again. At the entrance to Haiming, you can shorten the last section a bit on Kreuzstraße and return directly to the starting point.
Travel comfortably and safely by train to the Ötztal train station. The final stop or exit point is ÖTZTAL station. Afterwards, you can conveniently and quickly reach your desired destination via public transport or local taxi companies throughout the valley!
