Winter hike Winter high-altitude hike on the Choralpe

Description

Departing from Westendorf’s village centre, we walk towards the Alpenrosenbahn. We pass this gondola station, where we can also purchase our lift tickets, and continue our hike along the Oberwindauer Straße.  After a short ascent, we arrive at the bottom station of the Choralmbahn, which transports us in comfort to the mountain-top Choralpe station.  Here a magnificent, panoramic view awaits us, as well as a mountain restaurant.  From there we follow the ski track down to the Talkaser, the Alpenrosenbahn mountain-top station, where there’s another beautifully situated mountain restaurant.
