Family Attractions at Kitzbühel Area: Pillersee Family Land
Pillersee Family Land has been our family’s top attraction for years and is responsible for some of our best memories. It offers plenty of kid-friendly amusements — for even the littlest kids, and for all weathers. However, I’d recommend visiting on a warm day to get the most out of the refreshing water slides.
The Highlights
The suspended roller coaster requires that guests be 1.30 meters or taller. Now that my boys have reached this height, it’s their favourite ride. It’s a wonderful family coaster for parents and kids to ride together—and a wonderful way to share the adrenaline rush!

Right next to the roller coaster is the Pirate’s Cove – a ride that gives me the willies but makes my boys giggle with delight every time they ride it.
Kids love being the pilot of their plane on the Plane Carousel where they can fly through the air and glide up and down. This mild spinning ride is great fun for everyone, especially younger children.

My personal fave is the Wild Raft: This exciting water-bound excursion lets us experience the thrill and adventure of white water rafting as we whirl through churning, surging rapids in small boats that can accommodate up to four riders at a time. Be prepared to get wet—you are strongly recommended to bring some extra clothes!

Go ahead, have some ice cream, but maybe not before you ride the twirling Crocodile Merry-Go-Round: Riders stand in ‘crocodile cars’ and spin faster and faster and faster above the water… Our personal family challenge is to navigate the crocodiles in such a way that we splash each other.

The boats of the Viking Land are a tamer (but still fun) attraction that is just perfect for little ones, or any child at heart. The family can compete as you make your way through this interactive haunted grotto, “fighting” against dragons and monsters with two water cannons.

The Kneipp Ablution Pools are a perfect opportunity to cool down on a hot summer’s day. Kids can spend some time splashing about and building dams while parents can kick back and relax on the ample lawns. Picnic tables are available, too.

By the way: Chugging around the whole amusement park on the slow mini-train adventure is a great way to see all rides and attractions. All aboard!

On bad weather days, kids can jump on the many trampolines, romp about the adventure playground or simply bounce away in a tiny bouncy castle. A climbing wall rounds out the roster at Pillersee Family Land.
More Attractions
Pillersee Family Land is a large facility with excitement, history and charm. It is bursting with fun and adventure, and the biggest challenge is how to pack it all in. There are countless tubes, slides, swings, soft ball and water cannons along with electric toy cars and motorcycles for children to let loose and have fun! Best of all, lines hardly ever exist. Throw in the giant Adventure Climbing Tower and you can sit back and leave them to it. Better still why not grab a cup of tea or coffee and a quick bite from the adjoining restaurant.

Where to Eat
There’s a restaurant at the heart of the Family Land with a menu to satisfy all tastes. I strongly recommend the great organic burger—they source their meat from the neighbouring farm.
Where to Stay
Großlehen Hotel is located in Fieberbrunn, within a five minutes’ drive by car from the Family Land. The ****Hotel has been looking after families for many years and strikes an excellent balance between child-friendliness and grown-up entertainment. Children are superbly catered for.

Where to Cool Off
If you’re still after some refreshment, nearby Lauchsee Lake in Fieberbrunn is happy to oblige. This tiny swamp lake has a picture-postcard setting wrapped along an upland plateau of awesome natural beauty. There’s a designated area for kids and non-swimmers, featuring a sandpit with fountain, a playground, and a water trampoline. When you’re not cooling off in the lake, check out the lakeside restaurant’s menu.
