Top Ten Places for a Virtual Visit to Tirol

Updated on 02.03.2021 in Recommendations

Paragleiter Hohe Salve

Staying home is not exactly the best ways to enjoy the beauty of Tirol, but we have come up with a solution for all those keen to enjoy the majesty of the Austrian Alps from the comfort of their couch. Check out our top ten attractions for a virtual visit to Tirol and join us on a spectacular journey through the Heart of the Alps.

1. Drachensee lake

Located at the foot of the Coburger Hütte at 1,920 metres above sea level, legend has it that the beautiful Drachensee lake is home to a monster keeping watch over a submerged village. Check out the 360° panoramic photo above. Who knows, maybe you will even see the monster!

2. Ellmauer Halt mountain

Scaling the Ellmauer Halt, the highest summit in the Wilder Kaiser Mountains, is normally an adventure reserved for fit hikers with sturdy boots, a climbing harness and a head for heights. However, thanks to the wonders of technology you too can make it to the top without breaking a sweat and without even having to get up off the sofa!

3. Paragliding in Hochkössen

The area around Kössen is popular with paragliding and hanggliding enthusiasts thanks to its excellent thermals. This virtual flight gives you the chance to take to the skies and admire the Kaiserwinkl region from a totally new perspective.

4. Timok’s Wild World, Fieberbrunn

A high-rope adventure park, the water games, the spectacular Alpine Coaster – a visit to Timok’s Wild World in Fieberbrunn is a great day out for all the family. Check out the 360° panoramic photo above showcasing many of the highlights.

5. Skyglider, Lake Achensee

The Skyglider is a multi-person zipwire high above Lake Achensee which can reach speeds of up to 80km/h. Enjoy the thrill of the ride from the safety of your home!

6. Magical Witches‘ Water, Söll

Rushing streams, mighty rocks, smiling faces – the Magic Witches‘ Water play area on the Hohe Salve mountain is, as the name suggests, all about water in its many fascinating forms. The 360° panoramic photo above gives you a good idea of what awaits visitors.

7. Alpine Coaster, Imst

At 3.5 kilometres in length, the Alpine Coaster in Imst is the longest single-seater rollercoaster of its kind in Tirol. It starts high in the mountains and reaches speeds of 40km/h as it whizzes down towards Imst.

8. Canyoning, Zillertal Valley

The Zillertal Valley is full of deep ravines and rushing rivers, making it the perfect place for the sport of canyoning. Visitors are invited to jump, swim, slip and slide their way through the alpine landscape in the company of experienced guides. Highlights include climbing rock faces and then jumping into ice-cold pools below. Check out this virtual canyoning tour to see what you can look forward to.

9. Aurach Wildlife Park

In the village of Aurach near Kitzbühel there is a huge wildlife park home to more than 200 alpine and exotic animals such as kangaroos, llamas and Tibetan yaks. A number of these wonderful animals can be admired from the comfort of your own home.

10. Spieljochbahn cable car, Fügen

This cable car at the entrance to the Zillertal Valley whisks visitors up onto the mountain and into a world of adventure featuring a children’s rock climbing area, a barefoot walking trail, a zipwire and much more. The best way to access the Spieljoch mountain at the moment is by checking out the 360° panoramic photo above.
