Gullenhütte

Kirchgasse 5, 6142 Mieders, Österreich

Homey & cosy! Located in the picturesque village of Mieders, at the entrance of the Stubaital, only 300 metres away from the skiing piste, our lodge is situated at an altitude of 1,240 meters above sea level in a wonderfully peaceful location. Enjoy the panoramic views of the Stubai Mountains, the village of Mieders and the state capital of Innsbruck that is 15 km away. In winter, the Gullenhütte lodge can be reached on foot along the toboggan run. Luggage and people can also be transported to the lodge. Pure relaxation! The lodge is quaint and cosy, furnished with lots of wood and features a living room with wood stove, gas stove and a brick oven, a double room with balcony, a children's room with 3 beds, toilet and bathroom. The hot water for the bathroom and kitchen is provided by a wood-heated boiler. Lighting: candles and gas lamps; power is generated by an aggregate. Radio, satellite TV are also available. Below the lodge you will find a pond with trout. The 6-hectare plot of the mountain lodge is surrounded by pastures where Highland cattle and sheep are grazing in summer. Above the lodge there is a campground with a hearth (fireplace), a barn, a well and a rustic wood toilet that you are welcome to use as well. Outdoors, we furthermore offer you a sauna and a 180 cm hot tub that can both be heated with wood. Our cosy lodge get its drinking water from its own spring. The tub is filled with this fresh water (no treated water!). Filling the tub and heating the water (about 2,000 l) takes about 5 - 6 hours and is charged with € 20. The water has a temperature of about 4°C when it leaves the mountain. In summer, the Gullenhütte lodge is accessible from the centre of the village of Mieders and can be reached within 10 minutes. A perfect place for your summer vacation where various hiking trails are available. You can reach Europe's highest monastery, Maria Waldrast from the Gullenhütte lodge as well (duration about 1.5 hours). A beautiful hike to the Serles Mountain (also called Tyrol’s Altar) at 2,800m is definitely worth your while, not only at dawn. Walking time from the lodge is about 4.5 hours. The summit station of the Serles Mountain in Mieders in the Stubaital and/or the Koppeneck and Ochsenhütte restaurants can be reached after about a 1-hour walk. Under the cable car there is a 2.8 km summer toboggan run that takes you down to the valley at a maximum speed of about 40 km/h. The Serles skiing resort in Mieders, which is only 300 metres away from the Gullenhütte lodge, offers a variety of recreational activities, such as snowshoeing, snowboarding, alpine or cross-country skiing. Even winter hiking trails are available. It offers an 8-seat cable car, 3 tow lifts and a 6 km natural toboggan run that is illuminated at night. A perfect skiing area for the entire family! The biggest Austrian glacier skiing resort, Stubai Glacier, is located about 28 km away. If you love nature, long for relaxation and enjoy the quiet, you have come to the right place, here with us! We look forward to welcoming you as a guest in our lodge… Your hosts, the Eber family!
