The Innsbruck Tourist Board, the Tirol Tourist Board and Ellis Brigham Mountain Sports have teamed up to offer you the chance to win an incredible week’s ski holiday to the Innsbruck region in the Austrian Tirol. Included is the SKI plus CITY pass, granting access to 13 ski areas around Innsbruck and in the Stubai valley plus 22 attractions and sights, promising a great experience.
The pass includes Ellis Brigham’s last winter shooting destination Axamer Lizum. Offering top quality snow, incredible off-piste and delicious food, Axamer Lizum, in Innsbruck, the Austrian Tirol, is a wonderful destination for an Alpine escape.
Located just a quick drive or a complimentary shuttle bus from Tirol’s capital, Innsbruck, Axamer Lizum – towered by craggy Kalkkögel Mountains – is perfect for powder hounds. Known as Innsbruck’s ‘White Roof’, a reference to the famous Golden Roof in the heart Innsbruck, this niche resort hosted the Alpine downhill competitions for the 1964 and 1976 Olympic Winter Games.
Its north-facing location and high altitude (2,340 metres) translates to an abundance of natural snowfall every season and consistently good snow conditions throughout the winter. Although many intermediate and advanced skiers and snowboarders head to this small-but-mighty area, due to its unbeatable backcountry terrain, it also has sweeping reds, cruisy blues and a beginner area; Azamer Lizum is ideal for all levels of skier and snowboarder. However, off-piste experts should not miss the Birgitzköpfl Area and the long top-to-bottom run through Mutterer Alm Ski Resort down to the village of Götzens.
Skiers and snowboarders keen to perfect their tricks can make the most of the Golden Roof Park, which spreads out between Karleiten and Pleisen ski lifts. Here, friends and family can race and compete against each other at the designated speed course.
All this fresh, mountain air is sure to give visitors a healthy appetite; enjoy a hearty meal served with stunning mountain views in one of the welcoming mountain restaurants or cosy Alpine huts. Dine at Hoadl Haus Lodge, one of the Austrian Tirol’s most beautiful on-mountain eateries and take in the panoramic views on the sun-drenched bar.
After an exhilarating day on the slopes, head back down the valley to Innsbruck for a relaxing evening at the luxury hotel, or a night out exploring the many bars and eateries.
