Jerzens
Jerzens, a village with approx. 1,000 residents and covering 30 square kilometres has developed into a modern holiday destination all year around through the consistent but careful growth and expansion of Hochzeiger ski and hiking resort.
Especially during the summer months, it is apparent that the village hasn’t lost its original appeal. It is transformed back from a buzzing winter metropolis to its roots: a charming Tyrolean mountain village. You will find peace and quiet, relaxation and hours of walking possibilities. A very special highlight in the summer is the traditional mountain pasture and the church festival on the second September weekend.
Must Sees in Jerzens
The landscape conservation area Riegetal is a special highlight with its unique flora and fauna. The Riegetal is a high valley between the peaks of Hochzeiger (2,584 m), Wildgrat (2,971 m) and Hoher Gemeindekopf (2.771 m). A visit to the Stone Pine Museum, the Stone Pine Oil Extraction, der Zirbenpark [Stone Pine Park], der XP Abenteuerpark [Adventure Park], Stuiben waterfall and the Circular hiking route around the Kaitanger landscape pond are among Jerzen’s highlights.
Describing the little town of Jerzens in Pitztal is to, above all, highlight its family-friendly ski resort Hochzeiger. Children up to the age of 10 go free (on presenting a family passport), varied ski slopes, sunny hillside location, 6 kilometre toboggan fun and yet absolute snow guarantee. A walk through the beautiful winter wonderland of Jerzens is an experience full of atmosphere, especially on snowy days. Off the pistes cross-country skiing, curling and ice skating round off our guest’s winter experience in Jerzens in Pitztal.
