This municipality perched at 1,117 metres above sea level is surrounded by the Hohe Tauern National Park, making it the perfect place for hikers and mountain bikers keen to explore the region. In winter there is a wide range of ski touring routes and cross-country skiing trails in and around the Lienz Dolomites.

Iselsberg-Stronach’s long and proud history is reflected in its many historic buildings such as the Walchenstein ruins and the Marienkirche church.
