Attractions in the Reutte Nature Park Region

Medieval fortresses, crystal-clear lakes and a world-record hanging bridge make the Reutte Nature Park region a fusion of the past and present. Dominating the landscape is the Lech river with its untamed landscape.

The lords and ladies may have long left the Ehrenberg, but these medieval castle ruins high above Reutte still bear witness to the region's rich history. The ruins can be accessed via a 406-metre-long hanging bridge spanning a deep ravine 114 metres below – don't look down! On hot days there are plenty of lakes where visitors can cool off. The mighty Plansee, for example, has crystal-clear water and is up to 77 metres deep in places. There are even sightseeing ships operating on it. The Lech river to too turbulent for any such things, but those who wish to learn more about the region's lifeline can do so at the exhibition "Der letzte Wilde" showcasing the flora, fauna and geology of this major river.
