Lakes, meadows and craggy peaks make for a wonderful backdrop in the Wilder Kaiser region. A large network of trails lead through the protected nature reserve at the heart of the Kaiser Mountains and into the Kitzbühel Alps further south.
Most of the mountain bike trails in the Wilder Kaiser region start in Going, Scheffau or Söll. Rated intermediate, they are ideal for fit families. To the north they lead into the beautiful nature reserve of the Kaiser Mountains with the thundering Schleierwasserfall waterfall at the foot of the Maukspitze mountain above Going. Many rides can be combined with a stop at one of the local swimming lakes or mountain huts serving hearty local food. We recommend the ride from the Hintersteiner See lake to the west of the village of Scheffau up to the cosy Walleralm hut. Further south you will find the Kitzbühel Alps, home to famous peaks such as the Astberg, Hartkaser, Brandstadl and Salvenberg. All of these peaks can be accessed by cable car (bike transport included).
