Mösli Flirsch

Flirsch

In Tirol’s Oberland Region, in Stanzertal Valley, lies Flirsch. This small and idyllic village is dotted by old, lovingly hand-painted or timbered homes, bedecked with flowers. The Baroque parish church of St. Bartholomew and Lourdes Chapel above the village are well worth visiting. The local dairy farm sells fresh milk, farming and dairy products. The village is surrounded by Mösli Nature Preserve that encompasses 195 hectares of awesome natural beauty located beneath lofty Riffler Mountain. If you love to walk, the nature preserve is the place for you with several miles of trails winding past mosses, lichens, ferns, wildflowers, native plants, and a variety of animal life. There are great towering cathedrals of larch, their high canopy filtering bright green light to the forest floor in the spring sunshine. Elsewhere spruce of different shapes and sizes form a more intimate atmosphere with typical ancient woodland trees such as stone pines.
