Steiner Toboggans

Paul Steiner is a master craftsman of stylish and speedy toboggans. His sleds are designed not only to look good and go fast but also to brake quickly and safely in emergency situations.

Every single toboggan created by Paul Steiner is unique. Throughout the year the master craftsman can be found toiling away in his workshop in the village of Weer, bending the wood for the runners and searching for ways to improve the design. Customers can even have an image of their choice on the seat: a favourite photo, a portrait, a saying or phrase, a logo, etc. Steiner uses ashwood for all his toboggans. They come in different sizes (child, youth, adult) with the metal-shod runners angled at either 21° or 25° depending on how much grip and performance the rider wishes to have. With their excellent cornering and sporty design, the toboggans produced in Paul Steiner's workshop are aimed at advanced and expert sledders.

Innovation: an emergency brake for slippery situations

He also recently developed an innovation which will be welcomed by all tobogganers who have experienced icy conditions: an emergency brake. Pulling on this brake causes two pieces of metal to jam into the ground, bringing the toboggan and its rider to a swift and safe halt.
