Once again, World Luge Championships thunder into Innsbruck-Igls as the world’s best lugers battle it out on the Olympic Bobsleigh Run in January 2017. Come out and cheer your favourites!
The world’s best athletes in the sport of luge will be sliding into Innsbruck-Igls, Tirol, in January 2017 for the 47th World Luge Championships to be held on the Olympic Bobsleigh Run that was built for the 1976 Olympic Winter Games at Innsbruck. Tirol’s capital has hosted the World Luge Championships on four previous occasions in ten-year intervals, in 2007, 1997, 1987 und 1977. The 2017 World Championships, part of the International Luge Federation (FIL), will mark the fifth time that the event is held in Tirol.
