A kaleidoscope of colours takes over the sky at Kitzbühel Alps in September 2018, with more than 35 balloons ascending and floating over the beautiful mountains and valleys during the International Libro Ballooning Cup in Kirchberg.
The 29th International Libro Ballooning Cup fills the sky from September 22 to 29, 2018 with one of the highest-altitude balloon events in the country. Over eight days, pilots coming from Austria, Germany, Great Britain and Switzerland compete in challenges. Since balloon pilots can be pretty competitive, you’re guaranteed a good show; this exciting event is sure to make spirits soar with special mass ascensions and spectacular balloon glows. Get there early to see them all lift off and glow in the morning sun at 08:00am or admire them in the evening sun at 5:00pm. Many of the balloons stay fully inflated but tethered to the ground so spectators can get up-close views. Imagine rows upon rows of bulbous luminaries, dozens of feet tall, lit up from the glow of flames. Highlights include Sunday Evening Glow on September 23, 2018 with kids’ activities starting at 2:00pm. By 7:00pm, the actual Evening Glow Hill features brightly coloured balloons lighting up the night sky. During the event, you can also find yourself in a thatched basket hundreds of feet up, looking down on the lofty peaks of the Tirolese Mountains on a balloon ride.
