In its third year in 2019, the Achensee MTB Festival is 2-day mountain bike celebration that will include an expo area, bike demos, and fierce competition. With 84.8 kilometers to cover, the MTB Marathon is a challenging ride for those who dare.
There are three different courses to choose from, ranging from 28.1 kilometers and 695 meters of elevation gain for the less energetic to the extremely difficult and highly competitive 84.8K Mountain Bike Marathon on May 26, 2019, including a nasty 2,585 vertical meters. The Marathon course traverses the Brandenberg Alps and Karwendel Range northeast of Achensee Lake and is part of the Ritchey Mountain Bike Challenge. There will be a separate division for pedelecs. Having moved from Germany’s Tegernsee Lake to Achensee Lake in the Austrian Tirol, the MTB Festival will be held here for the third time in a row in 2019.
Riding bikes and having fun is what this festival is all about, for both contestants and spectators. On Saturday, May 25, 2019, there will be a Gravel Kini for gravel bikers, the 40K MTB Delight Loop and a Kids’ Cup. For the littlest, there will even be a balance bike race. New this year is the MTB Fun Rally for everyone.
The expected 5,000 spectators will have a chance to ride the industry’s best demo bikes at the massive expo area, featuring over 30 exhibitors.
