While learning backcountry ski skills & avalanche safety are the theme of the camps, participants will also have fun, ski powder, and soak in the spectacular Alpine terrain of snow-covered Rofan Range!
Excited to ski the backcountry but don’t know where to begin? These camps are for you! Explore a variety of ski terrain while learning backcountry ski skills and techniques from instructors who are passionate about the sport. With an emphasis on instruction, participants will join fully certified guides for two days in the amazing backcountry terrain of Rofan Mountain Range. Spend two days learning terrain assessment and avalanche rescue techniques with airbags, probes, shovels and transceivers while refining your ski mountaineering skills. The trip has a maximum of 40 participants per camp who can demo the latest gear of leading brands.
The Interpretive Ski Touring Trail in Rofan Mountain Range is part of the program as well. Highlight is the overnight stay on Erfurter Hut with an evening lecture on avalanche awareness. Participants should have intermediate to advanced backcountry ski movement skills. However, expert Alpine skiing skills are required.
