Outdoor Cinema, Theater Under Stars, Museum Visits – from late June through late August, the cultural summer program brings evenings of inspiration & enjoyment to the courtyard of Zeughaus.
Emperor Maximilian I let the Zeughaus (Arsenal) build at the gates of the city of Innsbruck in the early 16th century. This is where once upon a time the artillery of the emperor and artillery pieces and handguns were stored. Today, the late Gothic building is a popular museum and provides a look into the diversity of the cultural history of Tirol. From June 24 to August 26, 2023, the enchanting inner courtyard of the museum will once again serve as atmospheric backdrop for the varied cultural summer program. “Theater Under Stars” brings live theater performances by local theater associations and ensembles like RatzFatz, Theater in der Ache Noe, Maxi Blaha, 8ung Kultur, Kühne Bühne and BogenTheater. The repertoire ranges from puppet theater over comedies and musicals to poetry slams and youth plays. From July 27, 2023 onwards, the Outdoor Cinema summer program brings favorite movies on the big screen under the stars to the inner courtyard of Zeughaus. A welcome respite from summer heat is a visit to the Museum. Its cultural collections allow the stories in history books to unfold.
