Terribly beautiful works of art will be presented in this year’s special summer exhibition at Ambras Castle in Innsbruck from late June through late October.
What does the fearsome head of Medusa have to do with the beautiful corals that come from the depths of the sea? And where do the fantastic creatures, whose bodies are made of animal and human parts, come from, many of which have been forgotten today?
From June 22 through October 31, 2023, the special exhibition "Terribly Beautiful 2.0" will be dedicated to dark creatures, demons and hybrid beings ranging from antiquity to the 18th century. It will attempt to clarify the meaning of the myths hidden behind them, which are often thousands of years old.
