The Inn Situ Gallery at BTV Stadtforum is proud to announce a versatile exhibition on new flip books by artist Volker Gerling, which were created while he was taking a long walk in Tirol.
Volker Gerling uses a media that we all have been delighted with during our childhood: flip books. A flip book is a booklet with a series of images that very gradually change from one page to the next, so that when the pages are viewed in quick succession, the images appear to animate by simulating motion or some other change.
In 2021, INN SITU invited Volker Gerling to create new works on his walks from Tirol to Vorarlberg. The long walk is the source of inspiration for the five flip books on display in the exhibition, which is shown from April 06 through July 16, 2022.
