“Ride with passion” is the philosophy of this unique Multi-Terrain Cycling Festival. Participants are given a chance to pedal in the footsteps of the 2018 UCI Road World Championships for the fourth year in a row.
On Sunday, September 18, 2022, Gravel Innsbruck pits amateur athletes against one another in the most rigorous climb of the 2018 UCI Road World Championships— that is, hill-climbing, at a grade of up to 28 percent! It might well be that the devil shows up during the relentlessly steep climb up to aptly named “Höttinger Höll” (“Hölle” translates to hell in English!).
Moreover, the route winds through some incredibly special sections that are otherwise closed to cyclists, such as the Ski Jumping Arena on Bergisel Hill and the Olympic Bobsleigh Run in Igls.
Competitors can ride on their own or in teams, using road bikes, gravel bikes or mountain bikes. The entire route climbs 1,985 meters in elevation in 81 kilometers. Most important: This non-competitive ride is all about fun!
