On December 01, Saint Nicholas will arrive at the Christmas Market in a horse-drawn sleigh. A few days later, more than 20 Krampus groups from all across the Alpine regions will gather in Seefeld for a devilish show.
In the Alpine regions, the Krampus is a mythical horned figure represented as accompanying Saint Nicholas. Krampus acts as an anti–Saint Nicholas, who, instead of giving gifts to good children, gives warnings and punishments to the bad children. Traditionally, young men dress up as the Krampus in the first two weeks of December, particularly in the evening of December 5, and roam the streets frightening children and women with wooden masks, rusty chains, hammers and bells. The huge Krampus Run in Seefeld takes place at 7:00pm on Friday, December 06, 2024. As you have been good all year anyway, you have nothing to worry about -- right??!! The spectacular event is rounded out by an After Show Party at the Kur Park.
A few days earlier, on Sunday, December 01, 2024, Saint Nicholas will visit the Seefeld Christmas Market. Suited in red, St. Nicholas and his entourage of angels will arrive on the pedestrianized main street in a sleigh at 4:00pm and bring sweet gifts to the well-behaved little girls and boys. The festive parade will be accompanied by one Krampus and live music by the Seefeld Wind Ensemble. Stroll around the traditional and romantic Christmas Market in the heart of Seefeld that offers a unique shopping experience for visitors of all ages with its fair of various crafters, artists, gift shops and gastronomic surprises.
