Featuring five performances at the Kufstein KulturQuartier, the 2nd Circus Days bring remarkable levels of artistry and ability together for a thrilling lineup of events in late January.
After its debut in 2022, this year’s event presents the best of contemporary circus arts from January 26 to 29, 2023. Performances include theater, acrobatics, dance, arts, aerials, clowning, juggling, comedy, music and everything in between. Expect tenderness and virtuosity, the absurd and the extraordinary as emerging and established artists and companies share works-in-progress in a rapidly-evolving art form.
In this special four-day circus festival, four different companies of jugglers, acrobats, and aerial artists impress with physical feats and incredible skills as they push the boundaries of what circus is and what it can say. Staatliche Artistenschule Berlin will open the festival on January 26, 2023. The second evening (January 27, 2023) will feature Circus Comedy x 3, presented by Karl-Heinz Helmschrot On January 28, 2023, CIRCÖS will present the protagonists of Austrian contemporary circus – Sandra Hanschitz, Aurelia Eidenberger and Akrosphäreher elaborate handstand acrobatics in a show that is perfect for the whole family. The last festival evening (January 29, 2023) brings Gap of 42 to the stage of the KulturQuartier.
On Friday, January 27, 2023, kids aged between 8 and 14 years can learn the art of the circus at free Open Circus School workshops at the gym of MS1 School in Kufstein. Kids will be given a chance to learn basic aerial acrobatics, juggling, plate spinning, and tight wire, with additional offerings for younger children including scarf-tossing and balance challenges.
