Thrilling jousts, fire artists and authentic period music: Join us for the Medieval Festival at historic Altfinstermünz Fortress. This festival brings to life the customs and spirit of the Middle Ages for all to enjoy.
Experience the culture of a bygone era against the historic backdrop of the 1000-years-old fortress Altfinstermünz, situated between Landeck and Nauders. Towering high above Inn River and close to the border of Switzerland, visitors will be greeted by authentic period music by “Heydenrausch”, dance, magic, and minstrels, as well as jugglers and jesters on May 30, 2024. The festival includes thrilling jousts between knights, guided tours of the castle, and a spectacular fire show. Costumed vendors will be on hand to demonstrate and sell a wide variety of medieval crafts as well as food and drink. Experience the culture of a bygone era against the backdrop of the historic Altfinstermünz Fortress and the Inn River. There is fun for all ages.
Free shuttle buses will be operating between Ensplatz Square in Pfunds and the fortress between 10:00am and 1:00pm. Return rides are scheduled from 4:00pm to 6:00pm.
