The biggest crime literary festival in Austria will return to Tirol for the fourth running of the “Krimifest Tirol” Festival this October. A host of about 30 crime writers will give readings and workshops throughout Tirol.
With events all over the country, the Tirol Crime Festival gives all participants the opportunity to celebrate the noir genre in a friendly, informal and inclusive atmosphere. Appearing at the festival will be about 30 popular crime and thriller writers from German-speaking and other foreign countries, including Theresa Prammer, Tatjana Kruse, Thomas Baum and John Niven. Tirol-born crime author Bernhard Aichner is one of the key individuals involved in organizing the Tirol Crime Festival. He will present a number of readings.
In addition to the classic readings, there will be morning performances, music events, a crime writing workshop and a crime festival dinner. The Austrian Crime Book of the Year Prize, sponsored by the Swarovski Crystal Worlds, and the Raiffeisen Youth Crime Book Prize will be awarded during the festival. The Crime Literature Festival scholarship by the Tiroler Tageszeitung daily will be granted again this year.
